Yoo Hee-yeol will appear as a special DJ on MBC FM4U's 'Baek Cheol-soo's Music Camp' airing at 6 PM on the 18th.
This marks Yoo Hee-yeol's first appearance on a broadcast since the plagiarism controversy that arose in June 2022. At that time, allegations surfaced that the second track 'A Very Private Night' from 'Yoo Hee-yeol's Life Music' plagiarized the song 'Aqua' by Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. In response, Sakamoto stated, "All creative works are influenced by existing art. If one adds their originality by about 5-10% within the scope of responsibility, that is a wonderful and grateful thing," acknowledging the similarities while asserting that it was not plagiarism.
Even after clearing the allegations, Yoo Hee-yeol apologized, saying, "I still realize that I have much to learn and that I am lacking. I will think more and pay closer attention during the creative process." He also stepped down from his roles as MC on KBS2's 'Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook' and JTBC's 'New Festa,' completely halting his activities to reflect.
