Professor Lee Ho-sun, a counselor of 'Divorce Reflection Camp' and a professor at Soongsil Cyber University, paid tribute to the late football player Kang Ji-yong.
On the 23rd, Professor Lee posted on social media, "I remember someone who lived passionately and fiercely, and sadly departed." He added, "I pray for the family left behind. I pray for hope at the end of tears."
It seems that Professor Lee is commemorating the late Kang Ji-yong, who has passed away.
Kang Ji-yong passed away on the 22nd at the age of 37. The funeral is set at the special funeral hall No. 2 of Soonchunhyang University Hospital, and the burial will take place on the 25th. The final resting place is at Cheonan Memorial Park.
The deceased appeared as a couple in the 9th season of the JTBC entertainment program 'Divorce Reflection Camp' last February, where he revealed marital conflicts and family matters.
After the news of his passing was reported, JTBC expressed, "We extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the deceased and the bereaved family. We pray for the repose of his soul," and added, "To avoid causing any trouble to the deceased, we have deleted the VOD of his appearance after receiving the news."
Kang Ji-yong made his professional debut in 2009 when he was drafted by Pohang Steelers in the K-League. He later transferred to Busan I-Park in 2012. After playing for Gyeongju Citizen Football Club, Bucheon FC, Gangwon FC, Incheon United, Gimpo FC, Gangneung Citizen Football Club, and Cheonan City Football Club, he retired at the end of the 2022 season.
