Sung Yuri (44), a member of the girl group Fin.K.L, is returning to home shopping about four months after her husband, professional golfer Ahn Sung-hyun (44), was imprisoned.
GS Home Shopping recently posted a video introducing a new program on its official social media.
In the video, GS Home Shopping introduced, "Do you think you know who this back view belongs to? A legendary wannabe of Korea has appeared on GS Shop."
They continued, "That back view looks familiar. Could it really be that person? If you have a hunch, guess right now," and announced that they would gift 10,000 won in Naver Pay to 20 netizens who correctly guessed the identity of the person in the video. They also used hashtags like 'original fairy', 'Thousand Year Love', and 'Healing Camp' as hints.
Netizens quickly speculated that the protagonist in the video was Sung Yuri. 'Thousand Year Love' is a drama that aired in 2003, starring Sung Yuri and So Ji-sub, while 'Healing Camp' is a variety talk show that Sung Yuri hosted for two years starting in 2013.
Additionally, a netizen who rented the filming location to the home shopping channel said, "Today, Sung Yuri visited us," and added, "It was amazing to meet a celebrity in our home, and the filming atmosphere was great. See you soon on GS Home Shopping," along with a photo of Sung Yuri.
Sung Yuri married Ahn Sung-hyun in 2017 and gave birth to twin daughters in 2022. After giving birth, she returned to broadcasting as the MC of the variety show 'Is It Possible to Recall After Breakup?', but eventually halted her activities due to allegations surrounding her husband Ahn's involvement in a bribery scandal related to the listing of Bithumb. Following this, her exclusive contract with her agency also ended.
Later, in January of last year, Sung Yuri expressed her feelings of injustice regarding her husband's case on social media, saying, "I earnestly pray that the truth about the unfair and difficult things our family is experiencing will be revealed."
However, Ahn was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison on December 26 of last year for allegedly embezzling billions of won under the pretext of listing cryptocurrency on a virtual asset exchange.
