The last stage of Imija, the 'Queen of Traditional Music', is about to unfold.

On April 26 and 27, a tribute performance titled 'Connecting the Pulse (맥(脈)을 이음)' will be held at the Grand Theater of the Sejong Center in Seoul.

'Connecting the Pulse' is a tribute performance held by Imija to express her respect and love for traditional music. Having maintained her commitment to traditional music for 66 years, Imija will share the stage with junior singers Joo Hyun-mi, Jo Hang-jo, and the winners of 'Miss Trot 3', Jeong Seo-joo, and 'Mr. Trot 3', Kim Yong-bin. The event will be hosted by broadcaster Hwang Soo-kyung.

This performance is particularly meaningful as it marks Imija's final stage as a singer. Legendary traditional music artist Imija and the singers who will carry on the legacy of traditional music will come together to present a splendid and moving performance.

During her farewell stage, Imija will perform her hit songs that have provided comfort to the public over the past 66 years in a vibrant live setting, and she will deliver her final greetings to the audience as a singer. Additionally, there will be tribute performances from junior singers featuring their debut songs and hit tracks, as well as a special stage dedicated to Imija for her last performance. There will also be a time to reflect on the musical history that Imija has walked and the achievements she has left in the history of Korean music.

Debuting in 1959 with 'Nineteen Pure Love', Imija has maintained the roots of traditional music for 66 years, hitting numerous songs such as 'Teacher of the Island Village', 'Journey', 'A Woman's Life', and 'Black Island Lady'. One of her 'three major hit songs', 'Camellia Lady', surpassed 1 million in album sales and set a record by topping the popularity chart for 35 consecutive weeks, marking a significant milestone in the history of Korean popular music.
