‘Harbin’ Takes the Top Spot with 40,000 Tickets... Song Joong-ki’s ‘Bogotá’ a Box Office Flop [MK Box Office]

The movie ‘Harbin’ has maintained its position at the top of the box office, with daily audience numbers and ticket sales both reaching 40,000.

According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system, ‘Harbin’ attracted 48,250 viewers the previous day, bringing its cumulative audience total to 3,826,320.

Released on the 24th of last month, ‘Harbin’ depicts a thrilling chase and suspicion between those heading to Harbin for a single purpose and those pursuing them in 1909. It surpassed 1 million viewers on its second day, 2 million on the fifth day, and 3 million on the ninth day of its release. The break-even point is approximately 6.5 million viewers.

In second place is the domestic new release ‘It’s a Fairy Tale, but Rated R’ (directed by Lee Jong-seok), starring Park Ji-hyun and Choi Si-won. It attracted 20,343 viewers on its opening day, with a cumulative audience of 21,785.

The long-running film ‘Firefighter’ (directed by Kwak Kyung-taek) has dropped to third place. On the same day, it was watched by 14,279 viewers, achieving a cumulative audience of 3,600,120.

Fourth place goes to the overseas new release ‘Ferrari,’ which managed to attract only 10,489 viewers, bringing its cumulative audience to 11,097.

Song Joong-ki’s ‘Bogotá: The Land of Last Chances’ (hereafter ‘Bogotá’) has plummeted to fifth place. It was attended by 82,982 viewers, with a cumulative audience of 355,668. The break-even point is around 3 million, marking a box office failure.

Currently, the real-time reservation rate shows ‘Harbin’ (25.7%) in first place, with over 48,000 tickets sold. Following it are ‘It’s a Fairy Tale, but Rated R’ (13.5%, over 25,000 tickets), ‘Bogotá: The Land of Last Chances’ (6.6%, 12,000 tickets), and ‘Ferrari’ (5.8%, 10,000 tickets).
