The movie ‘Harbin’ is struggling to reach 4 million viewers, while the melodrama ‘Secret That Cannot Be Told’, starring Do Kyung-soo and Won Jin-ah, which is set to be released at the end of this month, has secured the 3rd spot in ticket reservations, completing its preparations for a full-scale launch.
According to the data from the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 10th, ‘Harbin’ attracted 44,851 viewers the previous day, bringing its cumulative audience to 3,872,434.
Released on the 24th of last month, ‘Harbin’ depicts the intense pursuit and suspicion between those heading to Harbin for a single purpose in 1909 and those chasing them. It surpassed 1 million viewers on its second day, 2 million on the fifth day, and 3 million on the ninth day of its release. However, its box office performance has sharply declined since then, maintaining daily audience numbers and ticket reservations in the 40,000 range.
With the weekend approaching, it is expected to surpass 4 million, while the break-even point is around 6.5 million viewers.
In second place is ‘It’s a Fairy Tale, but It’s Restricted’, starring Park Ji-hyun, which met 14,350 viewers on the same day, bringing its cumulative audience to 36,203.
