The production team of the movie ‘Ghost Police’ expressed their longing for the late Kim Soo-mi.
On the 12th, the distributor of ‘Ghost Police’, J&J Media Group, released a tribute video for the late Kim Soo-mi. ‘Ghost Police’ is the last work of Kim Soo-mi, who passed away at the age of 75 on October 25 of last year.
The film is a family comedy about a police officer who, after experiencing an unexpected disaster without ever hitting the jackpot, gains trivial abilities and becomes entangled in unexpected events with his family.
The tribute video begins with a discussion about “How to Remember Kim Soo-mi,” which she mentioned herself on the variety show ‘Master in the House’. It then reveals messages written on sketchbooks by the cast and staff of ‘Ghost Police’, including Shin Hyun-joon and Jung Joon-ho.
Shin Hyun-joon, who maintained a close relationship with the late Kim Soo-mi beyond that of a mother and son while working together on films like ‘Barefoot Gi-bong’ and the ‘Family Honor’ series, expressed his heartfelt feelings, saying, “I will live without forgetting the grace of my beloved mother who always loved and embraced me.”
The video then features clips of Kim Soo-mi's appearances in various works from the drama ‘Country Diary’ to ‘Ghost Police’. Notably, it includes a short greeting video filmed during the shooting of ‘Ghost Police’ with Shin Hyun-joon and Chae Si-eon, which deeply touches the hearts of prospective viewers.
The tribute video released that day will also be screened at the press and family preview of ‘Ghost Police’ taking place on the afternoon of the 13th at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The production team plans to hold a moment of remembrance for the late actress at this event.
Scheduled for release on the 24th.
