According to the integrated ticketing system for cinemas on the 12th, as of 4:50 PM that day, ‘Secret That Cannot Be Told’ ranked 1st with 20.9%, while ‘The Black Nuns’ took 2nd place with 13.9%. ‘Harbin’ fell to 3rd with 13.7%.
Set to be released on the 28th, ‘Secret That Cannot Be Told’, a fantasy melodrama starring Doh Kyung-soo and Won Jin-ah, is based on the legendary fantasy romance of the same name. It depicts a miraculous magical moment that begins when Yu-jun and Jung-ah accidentally meet in a campus practice room where the secrets of time are hidden.
The day before, the sequel to ‘The Priests’, and Song Hye-kyo's first foray into the occult, ‘The Black Nuns’, will be released.
This mystery occult drama tells the story of people who embark on a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. With a combination of actors like Song Hye-kyo, Jeon Yeo-bin, and Han Dong-hee, who are expected to showcase new transformations, along with fresh material and unpredictable developments, it is garnering high interest from prospective audiences.
In addition, there are other films such as ‘Hitman 2’ starring Kwon Sang-woo (to be released on January 22), the late Song Jae-rim's final work ‘Crash’ (to be released on January 15), and the late Kim Soo-mi's final work ‘Ghost Police’ (to be released on January 24). The animated blockbuster ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim’ is also set to be released on January 25.
Meanwhile, ‘Harbin’ (directed by Woo Min-ho) has recorded a cumulative audience of 4,062,055. Released alone in theaters at the end of last month on the 24th, ‘Harbin’ depicts the breathless pursuit and suspicion between those heading to Harbin for a single purpose in 1909 and those chasing them. The break-even point is approximately 6.5 million viewers.
