At the press screening and conference for the movie “Hitman 2” (directed by Choi Won-seob) held at CGV Yongsan in Seoul on the afternoon of the 15th, Kwon Sang-woo expressed his feelings about the release, saying, “I’m glad to see various genres of Korean films being shown in theaters since the end of last year. I hope many people get to watch diverse films.”
Director Choi Won-seob introduced, “Kwon Sang-woo really worked hard. He handled all the intense action without a stunt double.”
Kwon Sang-woo confidently stated, “I think a lot of Jackie Chan movies were released during the Lunar New Year holiday, and I believe ‘Hitman 2’ will have a similar feel. It’s a work that can be enjoyed with family. It has humor and various attractions.”
He continued, “The first film didn’t exceed 5 million viewers. It didn’t perform well enough to warrant a sequel, and especially with the COVID-19 situation, there were disappointing aspects.” He added, “When it was announced that ‘Hitman 2’ was in production, I personally felt like I was getting a ‘revenge’ of sorts. I approached it with the mindset of ‘I will bring joy to many more people than in the first film.’”
