The movie ‘Harbin’ has maintained its first place, while new releases set to debut during the holiday are occupying the 1st and 2nd spots in ticket reservations.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 16th, ‘Harbin’ (directed by Woo Min-ho) attracted 31,915 viewers the previous day, holding the box office throne for 23 consecutive days. The cumulative audience count is 4,282,201.
CJ ENM initially announced a break-even point of about 6.5 million before the release, but unusually lowered it to 5.8 million after applying overseas sales and additional rights contracts within a month of release. It is currently ranked 3rd in ticket reservations due to competition from new releases.
In 2nd place is ‘Firefighter’ (directed by Kwak Kyung-taek). On the same day, it attracted 10,763 viewers, with a cumulative audience count of 3,736,365. It has surpassed the break-even point (250,000) early on and is enjoying long-term success.
3rd place is ‘It’s a Fairytale, but it’s Rated R’ (directed by Lee Jong-seok). It recorded 6,328 viewers, with a cumulative audience count of 123,611.
Currently, in real-time ticket reservations, Song Hye-kyo’s ‘The Black Nun’ is in 1st place with 19.6%. 2nd place is ‘The Secret That Cannot Be Told’ starring Do Kyung-soo and Won Jin-ah (12.9%), 3rd is ‘Harbin’ (11.5%), and 4th is ‘Hitman 2’ (9.3%).
