World star Tom Cruise will attend the Cannes International Film Festival with the film 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning' (hereafter 'Mission: Impossible 8'). This marks his third invitation.
The organizing committee of the 78th Cannes International Film Festival announced on the 9th (Korean time) that "this highly anticipated film is set to be screened in the non-competitive section at the Lumière Theatre."
Accordingly, on May 14, actor and producer Tom Cruise, director and screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie, and the cast are expected to walk the red carpet at the Palais des Festivals.
'Mission: Impossible 8' is the eighth installment of the spy action blockbuster 'Mission: Impossible', featuring Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) new mission unfolding around the world. It is expected to conclude the story following 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One'.
Tom Cruise was officially invited to the Cannes Film Festival in 1992 with Ron Howard's 'Far and Away', and received an invitation again in 2022 with 'Top Gun: Maverick'.
The film is scheduled to be released in South Korea in May.
