Former SM Entertainment Chief Producer Lee Soo-man will not attend the 30th anniversary 'SM Town Live'.
According to industry sources on the 10th, the former chief producer has decided not to attend the 'SM Town Live' event, which will be held on the 11th and 12th at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Previously, it was reported exclusively by Maeil Business Newspaper that the former chief producer had received an invitation to the 'SM Town Live 2025' Seoul concert from SM Entertainment.
At that time, the former chief producer's side stated regarding the report, "We learned through the news that Mr. Lee Soo-man was invited to this performance. It has been confirmed that the invitation was sent in the form of registered mail."
Although it was not known whether the former chief producer would attend, he expressed his expectations at the '25th World Knowledge Forum' held by Maeil Business Newspaper last September, saying, "I am the founder of SM. Next year marks the 30th anniversary of SM's establishment," which added weight to the possibility of his attendance.
The former chief producer left SM earlier in 2023 amid a management dispute. If he had attended this 'SM Town 2025', it would have been significant as it would have been his first participation in an SM event in about two years. However, the former chief producer ultimately declined to attend SM Town and will support from afar.
Meanwhile, the former chief producer is preparing for his return to the music industry through the new entertainment company A2O Entertainment. He has been confirmed to be holding auditions for launching boy and girl groups in the Chinese market, as well as idol groups in South Korea.
