The group Fromis_9, which left Pledis Entertainment, is finding a new home. However, the full group transfer has failed.
According to the investigation by Maeil Business Star Today on the 17th, five out of the eight members of Fromis_9 have decided to transfer to Big Planet Made Entertainment. The remaining three members, who have different opinions, are considering contracts with other companies. As a result, it seems that full group activities for Fromis_9 will be virtually impossible.
Big Planet Made Entertainment, where the five members are transferring, is home to many artists including Taemin (SHINee), Lee Mujin, Ren (NU'EST), Lee Seung-gi, Ha Sung-woon, and Bad Villain. The parent company of Big Planet is One Hundred Label. Another subsidiary label of One Hundred Label is INB100, which is home to the EXO unit group 'ChenBaekXi'.
In relation to this, Big Planet Made Entertainment responded cautiously, stating, "This is not true."
Fromis_9 ended their exclusive contract with their agency, Pledis Entertainment, on December 31 of last year, marking the end of their partnership. Fromis_9, selected through the Mnet idol audition program 'Idol School' in 2018, has been active under Pledis since 2021. The members consist of Lee Sae-rom, Song Ha-young, Park Ji-won, Noh Ji-sun, Lee Seo-yeon, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-kyung, and Baek Ji-heon.
They officially debuted under Off The Record, a planning company under CJ ENM, in 2018. At that time, the team started with nine members, including original member Jang Gyu-ri, but was reorganized into eight members after she transitioned to acting.
After transferring to Pledis, Fromis_9 seemed to be actively promoting, releasing a special single in September 2021 and mini albums 4 and 5 in January and June 2022, respectively. However, they showed a somewhat sluggish pace, only releasing their first full-length album in June 2023, a year later.
Ultimately, the members expressed their disappointment about the long hiatus directly through their official Weverse channel in May of last year, saying, "Why can't we be active for so long? Is it just us? It's so sad. I also have fans. We also have Flover (the fandom name)."
After that, Fromis_9 made a comeback with their third single 'Super Sonic' in August of last year, about a year and two months after the release of their first full-length album. The song received great love, achieving good results on music charts and music shows. Nevertheless, the members concluded their time with Pledis after this album.
The special single 'From', released immediately after the announcement of the end of their exclusive contract with Pledis, is their last team song.
