Singer Kim Heung-guk has been revealed to have been fined for driving without a license.

According to the legal community on the 24th, the Seoul Central District Court issued a summary order of 1 million won to Kim Heung-guk, who was summarily indicted for driving without a license last August.

Kim Heung-guk drove a car in the Gangnam area of Seoul without a license in April of last year. During this process, he was caught by the police for illegal lane changing, and it was revealed that he was also driving without a license.

As a result, Kim Heung-guk was referred to the prosecution in May after a police investigation and was summarily indicted with a fine of 1 million won.

Previously, in April 2021, Kim Heung-guk was involved in an accident at an intersection in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, while driving an SUV. He made an illegal left turn at a red light and collided with a motorcycle that was proceeding straight, violating the signal. He was later investigated by the police for leaving the scene without providing assistance.

At that time, Kim Heung-guk explained, “I was stopped to make a protected left turn when a motorcycle came quickly from the opposite direction. In that situation, it brushed against the front of my car. The motorcycle rider stopped for a moment and then moved on.” He added, “I was surprised too, but I thought it was nothing serious since we might not see each other again. It was definitely not a hit-and-run.”

Kim Heung-guk has previously caused controversy for drunk driving in 1997 and 2013.

Recently, Kim Heung-guk has been making his presence known more as a supporter of President Yoon Suk-yeol, expressing his political stance rather than engaging in entertainment activities. In this regard, being a former Marine, he stated, “There is a provision in the Marine Corps regulations that prohibits involvement in politics, so I voluntarily resigned,” and he also stepped down from his position as vice president of the Marine Corps Veterans Association.
