The group Fromis_9 has completed preparations to embark on a new journey with their fans (Flover).
As reported exclusively by Maeil Business Star Today on the 26th, five out of the eight members of Fromis_9 (Song Ha-young, Park Ji-won, Lee Na-kyung, Lee Chae-young, Baek Ji-heon) have recently signed exclusive contracts with the new agency 'Ascend (ASND)'.
However, the remaining three members, Lee Sae-rom, Lee Seo-yeon, and Noh Ji-sun, decided to pursue their own paths after lengthy discussions with the other members.
After the report from Star Today, Ascend officially confirmed the signing of contracts with the five members, stating, "It must have taken a lot of thought and courage for the artists to choose to continue their team activities. We sincerely thank the artists for their great courage in deciding to join us, and we promise to provide unwavering support and encouragement so that they can realize their dreams."
Ascend continued, "We sincerely hope that the stages and music created by the artists will provide deep emotions and special memories for the fans," urging fans for their support and encouragement.
According to Star Today’s investigation, the members had a strong desire to maintain the group even after leaving their former agency, Pledis Entertainment, following the expiration of their contracts last month.
Subsequently, the members were reported to have carefully considered their new paths. Ultimately, the five members agreed to partner with a new agency that would allow them to pursue their new beginnings in a more proactive and diverse manner.
The members are likely to continue using the team name 'Fromis_9' with the new agency. Ascend has also stated that discussions are ongoing with the former agency (Pledis).
Additionally, the members are expected to hold a solo concert under Ascend this year.
Fromis_9 proved their potential with their third single 'Super Sonic' released last August. Despite a long hiatus of one year and two months since their previous work, it served as a signal that showcased the members' high-level vocal abilities and performance skills.
Attention is focused on the new activities that Fromis_9 will present with Ascend.
Fromis_9 is a nine-member group selected through the Mnet idol audition program 'Idol School' in 2018. After the original member Jang Gyu-ri transitioned to acting in 2022, the group was restructured into an eight-member group.
