The group New Jeans (NJZ) attended the injunction lawsuit filed by Ador in person.
The 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court held a hearing on the injunction request filed by Ador against the members of New Jeans regarding the preservation of agency status and prohibition of advertising contracts on the morning of the 7th at 10:30 AM.
New Jeans (Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) entered the Seoul Central District Court around 10 AM wearing dark-colored suits. Hani showed a relaxed demeanor, greeting the crowd that had gathered to see them with a slight smile, and Haerin was also spotted conversing with their lawyer before the formal trial began.
New Jeans and Ador have been in a dispute over their exclusive contract since November of last year. On November 29, New Jeans notified Ador of the termination of their exclusive contract and announced that they would begin independent activities under the new name 'NJZ'. They are set to announce a new song at 'ComplexCon' in Hong Kong on the 23rd.
On the other hand, Ador maintains that the exclusive contract with New Jeans is valid until July 31, 2029. Ador stated, "Claiming that trust has been unilaterally broken does not constitute grounds for termination," and filed a lawsuit for confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contract against New Jeans on December 3 of last year. Subsequently, on January 6, they also applied for an injunction to prohibit the preservation of agency status and the signing of advertising contracts.
This injunction aims to recognize Ador's status as the management company (agency) under the exclusive contract until the first instance ruling of the lawsuit for confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contract filed by Ador on December 3 of last year.
Additionally, it is a measure to prevent the members of New Jeans from independently engaging in advertising contracts, music activities, and all entertainment activities without Ador's approval or consent.
Meanwhile, the first trial date for the lawsuit confirming the validity of the exclusive contract between Ador and New Jeans is scheduled for April 3.
