As Lim Chang-jung prepares for his 30th anniversary concert, claims have emerged that he planned a new performance without resolving issues from a previous concert.
According to a representative from performance planning company A, A contracted with Lim Chang-jung for a nationwide tour concert in 2022, paying him a guarantee amounting to over 1 billion won.
However, in April 2023, suspicions arose that Lim Chang-jung had close ties with a stock manipulation group led by Ra Deok-yeon, leading to the cancellation of the concert. A, which invested hundreds of millions of won in the performance, suffered tremendous losses, including cancellation penalties.
Subsequently, Lim Chang-jung was cleared of charges related to the stock manipulation case and signed a new concert contract with Mbox Entertainment.
A claims that Lim Chang-jung received an estimated guarantee of over 1.5 billion won from Mbox Entertainment but did not return any damages or guarantees to A.
A's representative stated to Maeil Business Star Today, "Lim Chang-jung has not taken responsibility for the nationwide tour concert guarantee or the damages, and he has shown no willingness to resolve the issue, even avoiding contact," adding, "We are considering our response measures."
Meanwhile, Lim Chang-jung is set to hold his 30th anniversary solo concert 'Rustic Concert' in Daegu, Busan, and Seoul this coming May.
