Koo Jun-yup of the group Clon is erecting a statue of his late wife, Seo Hee-won.
According to local media in China on the 18th, the statue of Seo Hee-won will be placed about 400 meters away from the site where her ashes are interred, in the "Celebrity Area of the Stone Forest" at Jinbao Mountain.
It is reported that Koo Jun-yup and his designer friend will personally design the statue of Seo Hee-won.
The media stated, "Koo Jun-yup wanted the statue to reflect the parts he loved the most. This is Koo Jun-yup's final gift to the late Seo Hee-won. Seo Hee-won's family also praised Koo Jun-yup's thoughts."
The statue is expected to be completed this year, and the unveiling ceremony will likely be held privately.
Previously, the late Seo Hee-won passed away suddenly on February 2 while on a family trip to Japan due to pneumonia accompanied by the flu.
Afterward, rumors about the late Seo Hee-won's estate circulated, and her husband, Koo Jun-yup of Clon, stated, "Since what Hee-won worked hard to save was for her beloved family, I plan to give all rights to my mother-in-law."
Koo Jun-yup and Seo Hee-won met in the late 1990s and dated for two years before breaking up. Seo Hee-won later married Chinese businessman Wang So-bi in 2011, but they divorced in 2021. Following this, Koo Jun-yup reached out to Seo Hee-won, and they reunited, becoming a couple in 2022.
