Singer Lee Jung shared his thoughts on participating in ‘Mr. Trot 3’.
On the 24th, a press conference for the top 7 of the TV Chosun trot competition program ‘Mr. Trot 3’ was held at the Stanford Hotel located in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by ‘Mr. Trot 3’ CP Min Byung-joo, ‘Jin’ Kim Yong-bin, ‘Seon’ Son Bin-ah, ‘Mi’ Cheon Nok-dam (Lee Jung), Chun Gil (Moses), Choi Jae-myung, and Choo Hyuk-jin. The venue was filled with reporters eager to see the top 7 members. Nam Seung-min was absent from the event due to military service.
The final episode of ‘Mr. Trot 3’, which aired on the 13th, achieved a viewership rating of 19.1%, setting a new record for the program.
Lee Jung, who has been active as a ballad singer for a long time, said, “I didn’t know that the genre of trot would be this difficult. I started with the illusion that I could express myself within the techniques and feelings I could do. It was a very difficult genre, and expressing it was really hard.”
He continued, “While broadcasting, I learned a lot by watching the members' performances. It was fun and good to realize things while competing. I really enjoyed that process. Even when I was announced as 6th, I was already praising myself for getting this far, but I was really surprised to reach the position of ‘Mi’.”
Lee Jung also shared, “When I lived as Lee Jung, not many people approached me first, but these days, I feel the popularity as many people warmly welcome me wherever I go.”
Additionally, Lee Jung expressed his gratitude, saying, “My wife gave me the biggest support, which allowed me to take on this challenge. Lee Jae-hoon from Cool has also supported me a lot from the beginning until now, which helped me get to this position.”
The members of ‘Mr. Trot 3’, consisting of Kim Yong-bin, Son Bin-ah, Cheon Nok-dam, Choo Hyuk-jin, and Chun Gil, will hold a nationwide tour concert at the Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Olympic Park, Seoul, on the 29th and 30th.
The management of the top 7 of ‘Mr. Trot 3’ is handled by Yusensu Entertainment. Yusensu Entertainment is a management company newly established by Yoo Byung-jae, who successfully managed numerous artists, including Koyote, ‘Mr. Trot 2’ singer Na Sang-do, and comedian Chae Yoon, under JJ Entertainment.
