The dispute surrounding the national tour concert of ‘Current King of Mask Singer 2’ continues.
nCH Entertainment (hereinafter nCH) stated on the 25th, “We have signed a contract for the concert and management business of ‘Current King of Mask Singer 2’ with the production company Creas Studio (CEO Seo Hye-jin) for March 2024, and currently, a lawsuit for confirmation of the validity of the contract between the two companies is ongoing. As the court has not yet made a ruling, we also have business rights to the concert of ‘Current King of Mask Singer 2’.”
It continued, “Despite the ongoing trial regarding the validity of the contract, unilaterally signing a contract with a third party and proceeding with the performance without a conclusion is a clear violation of the contract, such as double contracting, and an act of deceiving the law during the trial.”
Furthermore, “nCH has filed a criminal complaint against CEO Seo Hye-jin of Creas Studio for obstruction of business and violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes due to damages of 7.8 billion won from the concert caused by double contracting, and a police investigation is currently underway,” emphasizing, “In addition, we will actively inform and clarify the unfairness through legal actions such as provisional seizure related to Creas's unreasonable performance continuation and double contracting.”
The legal dispute over concert performance rights between nCH and Creas began in October last year. At that time, Creas claimed that it sold the performance rights and management rights to nCH, but later nCH sold part of the performance rights to another company related to venue operations. Creas argued that it did not negotiate the third-party transfer, claiming “contract violation.”
In response, nCH countered that Creas was aware of the facts and forced a termination agreement just five months after the contract was signed.
