The group NewJeans, which is in a dispute over its exclusive contract with its agency Ador, had its hearing on the objection to the court's independent activity ban decision end in just 15 minutes.

The 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon) held a hearing on the 9th afternoon regarding NewJeans' objection to the court's decision to grant an injunction against the preservation of the agency's status and the signing of advertising contracts.

The hearing was conducted privately for about 15 minutes at the request of the NewJeans members. The members of NewJeans did not appear in court, and only the representatives from both sides were present.

After the hearing, the representatives from both sides left without providing any comments in response to questions from reporters. The court is expected to make a decision regarding this case soon.

NewJeans and Ador have been in a dispute over their exclusive contract since November of last year. On November 29 of last year, NewJeans notified Ador of the termination of their exclusive contract and announced that they would pursue independent activities.

In response, Ador filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract, stating, "Claiming that trust has been unilaterally broken does not constitute grounds for termination." They also filed for an injunction to prevent the members from engaging in independent activities.

On March 21, the court ruled to fully grant Ador's request for an injunction against the preservation of the agency's status and the signing of advertising contracts, siding with Ador.

According to the court's ruling, NewJeans is prohibited from engaging in independent activities without prior approval or consent from Ador until the first instance result of the main lawsuit is announced.

On the day the injunction was granted, NewJeans submitted an objection to the court, and two days later, they announced a halt to their activities during a performance in Hong Kong.

The party that filed for the injunction can appeal directly to the second instance if it is dismissed. However, the opposing party can file an objection and appeal if it is not accepted. In other words, since the injunction filed by Ador has been accepted, if NewJeans' objection is not accepted, they will proceed to appeal in the second instance.
