'Current King of Mask Singer 2' has released the results of the review regarding the allegations raised about the program.
On the 10th, CREA Studio, the production company of the MBN competition program 'Current King of Mask Singer 2', stated, "We received a response from the Fair Trade Commission confirming that there are no violations regarding the four issues raised (the unfairness of participants Shin Yu and Park Seo-jin advancing to the finals without preliminaries, the preferential treatment for Shin Yu's featuring on the finals stage, the sharing of information about the audience tickets for the finals in Shin Yu's fan cafe, and the investment of 1.1 billion won by an investor related to the agency of participant singer Hwanhee)."
The production company explained, "First, regarding the complaint about the unfairness of participants Shin Yu and Park Seo-jin advancing to the finals without preliminaries, this was part of the 'Mystery Current' concept aimed at maximizing the tension and interest of the program. To ensure fairness, we imposed handicaps such as score deductions, shortening the public voting period, and limiting the right to nominate, so it cannot be considered unfair at all."
They continued, "Second, regarding the complaint that Shin Yu received preferential treatment for featuring in the finals, the sound effects used in 'Love Story' featuring Park Ae-ri were used as a musical device, and using sound effects to preserve the original song cannot be seen as preferential treatment."
Additionally, "Third, regarding the complaint that audience tickets for the finals were given out in Shin Yu's fan cafe, inviting family and acquaintances of participants was a common proposal for all competition participants, and they have no voting rights. However, there was a misunderstanding on Shin Yu's side regarding the range of acquaintances, mistakenly sharing incorrect information in the fan cafe."
Finally, "Fourth, regarding the complaint that an investor related to singer Hwanhee's agency invested 1.1 billion won, this is completely unfounded," they denied.
CREA also stated, "The production team of 'Current King of Mask Singer 2' respects the Fair Trade Commission's clear judgment that there are no issues regarding the unnecessary controversies raised so far, and we will actively respond to malicious complaints that damage brand value through indiscriminate negative comments and hold legal responsibility."
'Current King of Mask Singer 2' is an audition program presented after PD Seo Hye-jin established CREA Studio, who planned the 'Miss Trot' and 'Mr. Trot' series.
