The group BTS has added another song to its list of tracks with over 500 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
The title track 'IDOL' from BTS's repackaged album 'LOVE YOURSELF 結 'Answer'', released in August 2018, has surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify (as of the April 8 chart). This marks the 15th song by BTS to reach 500 million streams.
'IDOL' is a song with a South African dance style, featuring a blend of African beats, traditional Korean rhythms, and trendy EDM sources supporting the trap groove rap. Upon its release, it gained global popularity, reaching 11th place on the US Billboard Hot 100 and 21st place on the UK Official Singles Chart. In 2022, it received a 'Platinum' certification in the streaming category from the Japan Record Association.
Meanwhile, 'IDOL (Feat. Nicki Minaj)', featuring Nicki Minaj, is also approaching 200 million streams on Spotify, with approximately 190 million plays.
