Rosé of the group BLACKPINK has been selected as one of the '100 Most Influential People of the Year' (TIME 100) by the American weekly magazine Time.
Rosé, who hit the charts with the song 'Apartment' (APT.) in collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars last year, was named in the pioneers category of the 'TIME 100' list announced by Time on the 16th (local time).
Actress Lily Collins, who wrote the reason for Rosé's selection, stated, "She is a very dynamic performer and also a songwriter," adding, "It's amazing that as a member of a world-class girl group and as a solo artist, she can captivate audiences in concert halls."
Collins wrote, "She is essentially an icon and a boss herself," and "Her voice is really strong, and the music is very fun." She also added, "I love Rosé's spirit and everything about her," expressing pride in all that she has achieved over the past year.
Since 2004, Time has been selecting and announcing 100 individuals or organizations that have made the most significant impact on the world each year. Notable Koreans who have made the list include director Bong Joon-ho in 2020, actress Youn Yuh-jung in 2021, and 'Squid Game' director Hwang Dong-hyuk in 2022.
Meanwhile, Rosé's song 'Apartment' is inspired by the widely known 'Apartment Game' in Korea, and its catchy chorus 'Apartment, Apartment~' has gained worldwide popularity.
