Musician Yoo Hee-yeol, who had suspended his broadcasts due to plagiarism controversy, will meet listeners as a special DJ on the radio.
His agency Antenna announced, "Yoo Hee-yeol will serve as the special DJ for MBC FM4U's 'Baek Cheol-soo's Music Camp' for four days from the 18th to the 21st."
Antenna added, "This special DJ appearance is made with Yoo Hee-yeol's respect for his senior Baek Cheol-soo. He plans to communicate comfortably with listeners through his unique straightforward hosting and wit."
Yoo Hee-yeol has hosted various radio programs, including 'Yoo Hee-yeol's FM Music City', 'Yoo Hee-yeol's All That Music', and 'Yoo Hee-yeol's Radio Heaven', where he has engaged in deep conversations. He is expected to share heartfelt connections with listeners, approaching their stories sincerely, along with his sophisticated song selections based on his musical expertise.
In 2022, Yoo Hee-yeol stepped away from all broadcasting activities, including his music career (Toy), due to plagiarism allegations. Despite receiving a statement from renowned Japanese film composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, who was the comparison target, stating that it was not plagiarism, he ultimately halted his activities due to the cold public response.
As the head of Antenna, he could not let go of music and focused on supporting junior artists. He gradually began to resume his activities and eventually returned to the public as a music program DJ.
Yoo Hee-yeol, who briefly walked down a downhill path with music, is now embarking on an uphill journey with music once again.
Meanwhile, 'Baek Cheol-soo's Music Camp', where Yoo Hee-yeol will serve as a special DJ, airs daily at 6 PM on MBC FM4U.
