Singer Kim Heung-guk, who has expressed support for former President Yoon Seok-yeol, has joined the presidential campaign of People Power Party candidate Na Kyung-won.
On the 19th, Na's presidential campaign announced its appointments. Here, Kim Heung-guk was appointed to the advisory group along with Lee Dong-seop, the head of the National Taekwondo Center (20th National Assembly member), and Professor Seo Min from the Department of Parasitology at Dankook University College of Medicine.
Jeong Yang-seok, the chairman of Special Olympics Korea and a former member of the 19th and 20th National Assembly, will serve as the co-organizing headquarters director. Chairman Jeong, a former two-term lawmaker, has served as the Secretary-General of the People Power Party and as a member of the emergency response committee.
Kim Heung-guk is known to have formed a connection with candidate Na by supporting her during the last general election. In 2011, he also participated in a Marine Corps marathon together.
Meanwhile, broadcaster Hyun-young's sharp remarks have drawn attention. Recently, Hyun-young shared a video on her YouTube channel showing her greeting Kim Heung-guk. In this, Hyun-young told Kim, who is involved in politics, “Are you doing politics, oppa? Don’t do that. It’s not fitting to be in politics and cause a fuss. Be a butterfly instead.”
At the time, the conversation between Hyun-young and Kim Heung-guk flowed with laughter, but some expressed concerns about Kim's excessive conservative tendencies.
Kim Heung-guk supported former President Yoon during the last presidential election. On the 4th, when former President Yoon was dismissed, he expressed dissatisfaction, saying, “This is unacceptable.”
