Hyein from the group NewJeans greeted fans with a handwritten letter on her birthday.
On the 22nd, Hyein caught attention by personally responding to fans who congratulated her on her birthday through the SNS account managed by the members.
Hyein wrote, "Reading the fans' messages gave me more courage. There were many similarities to the thoughts of the members, so it felt like I was having a conversation with my sisters while reading the letters," and added, "I felt the sincerity in the messages, and I am that much more grateful. The fact that such strong Bunnies (the fandom name) are supporting us is a great source of strength."
She continued, "I was able to reflect once again on the important parts of my life that I don't want to forget," expressing her gratitude for the fans' support.
In another handwritten letter, she said, "It feels really amazing that our existence is part of the Bunnies' daily lives. I still think we haven't done much for the Bunnies. The Bunnies have given us so much more," and added, "I believe we can grow stronger by turning this trial into nourishment. Thank you so much for being our strength."
Hyein expressed, "I want to say thank you for the advice and support you give me, which has alleviated the burdens and worries in my heart."
NewJeans held an emergency press conference last November, announcing the termination of their exclusive contract with Ador and began to pursue independent activities. They also announced their new group name, NJZ.
In response, Ador filed a request for a provisional injunction to preserve its status as a management company and to prohibit the signing of advertising contracts. The court made a ruling on this matter in March. The court determined that the members of NewJeans should not engage in entertainment activities on their own or through a third party without prior approval or consent from Ador. The members submitted an objection on the same day.
On the 23rd, NewJeans announced a halt to all activities, stating, "We have decided to temporarily stop all activities in respect of the court's decision. We know better than anyone that this choice will not be easy, but it is what protects us."
NewJeans had been operating an SNS account named after NJZ, but following the court's ruling, they deleted the name and set up a new account name by combining the members' initials.
