At 'K-Pop Week in Hongdae', Ryu Philip expressed his desire to become a singer like Lim Young-woong.
On the afternoon of the 23rd, a press conference for 'K-Pop Week in Hongdae' was held at H-STAGE in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, with attendees including Yoon Hyung-bin, Yang Seung-ho, Ryu Philip, Gunjo Crew, Kim Si-hoon, and Kang Hyun-woo.
When asked about the highlights of his performance, Ryu Philip replied, "Since my genre is trot, I think I can present a stage that is a bit different from K-pop. I have held concerts for 1,000 people in Japan, but my dream is to work as a singer in Korea. Recently, I have been wanting to try ballad trot, so I am being ambitious. If you come this time, you will be able to hear my new song."
He continued, "I have participated in many auditions, but the results were not good, and I was about to give up on music. However, whenever I thought of quitting, opportunities would come. Knowing the value of the stage made me want to sing again. I always think while watching Lim Young-woong, 'I want to do that kind of music' and 'I want to become that kind of singer.' I want to become the second Lim Young-woong."
Meanwhile, 'K-Pop Week in Hongdae', which will be held from May 1 to 11, has the motto of 'K-Pop that meets sincerely and closely.' It aims to provide opportunities for fans and artists to connect more closely, focusing on various small theaters near Hongdae rather than large concert halls.
