BLACKPINK's Rosé is aiming for an award as she has been nominated in two categories at the American Music Awards (AMAs).
On the 23rd (local time), the American Music Awards revealed the list of nominees on their official website. Here, Rosé is nominated for 'Collaboration of the Year' for her song 'Apartment,' which features American pop star Bruno Mars.
Rosé is competing against Taylor Swift and Post Malone's 'Fortnite,' Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' 'Die With a Smile,' and Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther.'
Additionally, Rosé has been nominated for 'Favorite K-Pop Artist,' proving her global popularity. In this category, she is up against BTS members RM and Jimin, as well as the groups Stray Kids and ATEEZ.
Aside from these, no K-Pop artists were nominated in major categories such as Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.
The American Music Awards are considered one of the three major music award ceremonies in the U.S., alongside the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards. Awards are determined solely by fan voting, making it a ceremony known for its high popularity and objectivity. BTS won the prestigious 'Artist of the Year' award at this ceremony in 2021.
This year's American Music Awards will be held on November 26 in Las Vegas, USA.
'Apartment' is a pre-release single from Rosé's first full album 'Rosie,' which was released on December 6 of last year. It garnered explosive reactions upon release, creating a phenomenon. 'Apartment' has consistently charted on the Billboard Hot 100 for 26 weeks, marking the longest charting record for a K-Pop female artist. Rosé has also been named one of Time magazine's '100 Most Influential People in the World' for 2025, leading global success.
